Memory

a textile journey to India

Text and photography Rosenda Meer
Rosenda Meer dedicates this book to the experience of «Le Cachemirien».It is a subtle look at India and a homage to all those who have welcomed her work in Paris with enthusiasm and fidelity.

Memory, filled with impressions and thoughts, images and poems, recounts her discovery of an ancient art, her meeting with the craftsmen who keep it alive and the ties that have been woven between the workshops in India and the delicate world at 'rue de Tournon'.

Through the pages of this book, as much a work of art as an ethnological work, the designer takes the readers beyond geographical frontiers in her relentless aesthetic search and invites them to join her in a spiritual quest, to share her pleasure whilst portraing an age old culture. This is above all a human encounter.

Profits from the sale of the book will go to the Yateem Trust school for orphans in Kashmir.
